SportzVillage having sponsored the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) inter school sports activities last year and New Bombay Area Schools' Association (NBASA) inter-school football, hockey, volleyball and athletics competitions this year, announces The Navi Mumbai Olympics 2008. Navi Mumbai will see sports carnival across the city, beginning 9th February.

The Navi Mumbai Olympics 2008 will have as many as 12 sports events, mainly devised in four age categories for both male and female athletes. The competition will include the games of cricket, hockey, volleyball, football, basketball, swimming, athletics, tennis, table tennis, badminton, carrom and chess. The entry is open to all bonafide Navi Mumbaikars, who are interested in being a part of the sporting gala.

This sports extravaganza will cover all the nodes of Navi Mumbai, thus giving equal prominence to respective areas and budding talents. The tournaments in varied discipline will be played amongst eight major nodes of the city. Every node will have one team each for different games. The nodal contingents that are supposed to be formed soon will include Panvel, Kalamboli, Kharghar, CBD Belapur, Nerul, Vashi, Kopar Khairane and Airoli.

There are four major groups; under-14, under-25, under-40 and above-40 in which the events will be conducted in various games.
